Chance Beck (They/He)
Chance is an MFA Sound & Media Design student at the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, where he focuses on theatrical and media-driven storytelling. They have worked as both a designer and technician throughout their graduate and undergraduate training, with additional engineering experience in professional companies, including the Ohio Light Opera.
Chance has been credited as the Sound Designer for You Can’t Take It With You, The Harvest, and Failure: A Love Story with the Clarence Brown Company. Other design credits include: As It Is In Heaven, The Rainbow Fish Musical, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Doctor Faustus, Into the Woods, and It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. They have also served as Assistant Sound Designer for Tip-Toes and She Kills Monsters.
Chance has served in a variety of technical positions- A1, A2, Electrician, Sound Board Operator, and Stagehand, while enjoying the collaborative, hands-on aspects that live theatre offers to create compelling stories.
